Description

When installing hrev46455 x86_64, there is no support for USB mouse or keyboard after booting from CD to installer. If I use PS/2 mouse and keyboard, I can install normally to hard drive. USB function returns after booting to installed partition on hard drive.

Same problem with hrev46454.

Do you mean with x86 version?

comment:5 by vidrep, 10 years ago

Yes x86_64. Later today I'll install each x86_64 boot image in succession, starting with the last one that worked, which was 46425. Until now I had not tried to install 46438 or 46447.

Tried multiple installs with 46500 image and 46508 image, booting from both CD drive and USB drive. Both CD image files exhibited similar behaviour when trying to boot and install from CD:

CD image with USB keyboard and mouse - intermittently boots to installer dialog screen without keyboard or mouse functions. 40% of the time it would hang on last boot screen icon.

CD image with PS/2 keyboard and mouse - always boots to installer dialog screen with keyboard functional, intermittent mouse. Whether selecting "installer" or "Live CD" with keyboard always activates "Live CD" only - cannot select installer. Once on "Live CD" has full USB and PS/2 keyboard and mouse functions. Can then activate installer and install to HD normally.

Anyboot image from USB drive - USB and PS/2 keyboard and mouse are fully supported and installs to HD normally - no issues.

Replying to vidrep:

It seems I missed one x86_64 case in hrev46470 (boot symlinks). Did you check the CD boot in 32-bit with a USB mouse also?

comment:9 by vidrep, 10 years ago

None of the 32 bit hybrid builds exhibit this behaviour - only the x86_64 builds.
