    1 I'm a bit late to the show, but as an FYI, I tried hrev43299 on my X61 system with i965GM, and it booted just fine due to pulkomandy's fix.  That said, Michael will likely fix this in a different way when he reworks the driver, especially since the current fix doesn't help people like jalopeura and likely plenty of others.  I'm not sure if using the '1' fix that jalopeura suggested would work system-wide or not without any issues, but at least his solution gives further information of how to reach an ultimate solution to the problem.
