Description

From #8807

As per the discussion here:  http://www.freelists.org/post/haiku-development/Trademark-issues-with-use-of-PDF-logo

The document "Adobe Trademark Guidelines - For third parties who license, use or refer to Adobe trademarks" seems to make it pretty clear that unless we have specific written consent (a license) from Adobe directly, we cannot use the Adobe PDF logo (the red triple swirl thing) as part of our icons like we're currently doing.

It may be possible to acquire a license/permission to use the Adobe(R) PDF File Icon or logo. Attached it a PDF for their trademark guidelines and contains contact information.

Just curious if a formal request was sent to Adobe yet?

Milestone: R1R1/beta2
Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

The logo has been removed from the pdf filetype icon. I opened an issue at BePDF which is the remaining place where the logo is used (on the app icon).

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
