#12426 closed enhancement (fixed)

Haiku repo doesn't show 'custom' title

Reported by: humdinger Owned by: stippi
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Applications/HaikuDepot Version: R1/Development
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

This is hrev49694.

If a custom title is set in the HaikuDepot Server webinterface, it is only displayed for packages in the 'HaikuPorts' repo. The 'Haiku' repo, however, always shows the original hpkg name. For example, 'haiku_welcome' should be 'Welcome to Haiku'.

Same for the "Size" column, BTW, and if I see this correctly, the translated descriptions are also missing.

Type: bugenhancement

Looks like this simply hasn't been implemented yet, see http://www.freelists.org/post/haiku-depot-web/Update-MultiRepository,27

Hi Humdinger; This should be implemented now. Can you please check this and if it is resolved, close this ticket. Thanks

Hmm... currently there's no "Haiku" repos listed at https://depot.haiku-os.org
I think it was before... (?)

Anyway, I tried changing the title of "simpletimer" to "Simple Timer" in the clasqm repo. Added the repo with pkgman add-repo http://clasquin-johnson.co.za/michel/repo (which exposes another bug in HaikuDepot). Still I see only "simpletimer", even after a refreshing of all repos.

Not fixed yet, apparently. Sorry. :)

Or is it...?

I now tried with bbjimmy's repo ( pkgman add-repo http://coquillemartialarts.com/fatelk/repo ) . I changed "helpviewer" to "HelpViewer" and that percolated to HaikuDepot. Close after all?

Maybe there's some issue with clasqm's repo. After adding it, I see it and a blank entry in HaikuDepot's repository menu. Choosing the "clasqm" repo, I see nothing listed, choosing the blank entry is the same as listing all repos: it then shows the clasqm packages as well.

Close this ticket and put the Clasqm Anomaly into a new one?

Hi Humdinger -- can you please run HaikuDepot from the bash shell with the -v debug arguments, capture the output and see if anything stands out as being a problem with the "clasqm" repository?

Yes this was removed some time ago as it made no sense in terms of packages that end users would be looking for.

Attached the log. Any chance the name of the repo is the problem? Spaces and inverted commas...

OK. But then we won't have nice titles for the packages and no translations. The user may look for the user guide in his language.

I can see that the association is being made;

` associated dept [clasqm's x86_gcc2 repo] (http://clasquin-johnson.co.za/michel/repo) with server repository source [clasqm_x86_gcc2] (http://clasquin-johnson.co.za/michel/repo) `

I guess this is when you made your change...?

` [PkgDataUpdateProcess<clasqm's x86_gcc2 repo>] remote data has not changed since [Wed, 20 Dec 2017 15:27:05 GMT] `

It looks like something is wrong;

` [PkgDataUpdateProcess<clasqm's x86_gcc2 repo>] did process 0 packages' data in ( 1.14 secs) `

It looks like trying to access his repository at present is returning a 404 so there are no packages. Let's close this ticket and can you contact him directly about that?

Moved to here; https://github.com/aplgithub/haikudepotserver/issues/143

Can you please put your thoughts on that there?

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

OK. Marking as "fixed" as the original problem was solved.
I don't think I can give any more useful input WRT keeping track of the "Haiku" repo at HDS, other than that for a completely localized system it's necessary.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
