#15003 new bug

NetFS 64bit to 32bit mounting issue.

Reported by: bbjimmy Owned by: nobody
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: File Systems/NetFS Version: R1/Development
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

cannot share files from 32bit server with 64bit client.

Start netfs server on a 32bit (gcc2) system.(I use netfs control center from http://fatelk.com/repo/packages) and add a user for the 64bit system.

Run netfs_mount on the 64bit system.

It shows the Network disk on the desktop.

Open the disk in Ttracker and it shows my server (Jim_Desktop)

Open the Server and enter the username and password in the authentication box.

Tracker now shows a blank window ... "/network/Jim_Desktop"

The same server can be mounted from a 32bit computer and I can brows the filesystem and copy files to / from the server.

I have not tried the other way around as I only have one 64bit system, but I suspect there will be the same issue.

Nothing of interest in the syslog. However I did notice:

KERN: usb ehci: found device with invalid IRQ - check IRQ assignement

I guess USB must be broken on this machine then? But you don't seem to have a ticket about that...

The server shows that the share is mounted by the client.

usb has never worked on the 32 bit computer.

Well, the USB error looks like a trivial fix. If you'd reported it before, we could have fixed it by now :)

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
