#15937 new bug

Backgrounds: In folder mode outline colour sets text colour to a derivative of panel text colour

Description

When you open Backgrounds in folder mode, if you don't set an image the folder background colour will be set to document background colour.
If you activate then outline label the folder text colour will be a derivative of panel text colour.
We can't be sure that those colours will mix well and it would be safer to use document text colour in this case.
Optionnaly, let the user chose a different colour via the widget as it would also help when an image is defined.

I am a bit confused how this is related to pref/backgrounds? you are talking about text colors in tracker views right?

Yes, that code is indeed in Tracker.

You have two different modes in Backgrounds app. One is for Desktop, the other for folders.
The main differences in folder mode are that you can't set an image to scaled and sliders for choice of a background colour are deactivated.
So yes nephele, it's another setting in Backgrounds app that affects Tracker views.

At the time I reported this, default folder text colour was black and putting a notch on the outline label was changing it to use panel text colour instead. As you mentioned on the forum it was a non-sense. I was suggesting to use document text colour instead.
Your commit changed all that since now default text colour is document text colour. So the problem reported is fixed.

Note that panel text colour is still used if you select outline label text but people are often setting it to be the same as document text colour. So it doesn't give a real alternative.
Having the possibility to chose a colour for each folder, as you suggested elsewhere, would make sense as you can pick a different picture for each one.
