Description

Please,

My Asus X570-PRO (WI-FI) motherboard comes with Intel chipsets for Ethernet and WIFI. Both are not recognized by Haiku hrev1/beta3.

FreeBSD launched support for I225-V, don't know nothing about AX200.

Thank you for the work you do.

Summary: Support for Intel I225-V Ethernet Chipset and Intel WiFi 6 AX200Support for Intel I225-V Ethernet Chipset

AX200 is not yet supported by FreeBSD and I think tracked somewhere else. So let's make this ticket just about the I225-V.

I added this driver in hrev55559, but it's not on the images yet. I attached a build of it for x86_64. Please test it by copying it into /system/non-packaged/add-ons/kernel/drivers/bin on an already-running system, and see what happens. (Upload a syslog if it does not work.)

Does it not need to be linked to /system/non-packaged/add-ons/kernel/drivers/dev/net?

Not if you drop it in after booting has finished.

Just got my StarBook MK-V a week ago and wanted to try out this driver, but how can I copy something to /system when it is ready only? Is there an override?

Tried to install it into the similar user addon path under /home and it wasn't picked up - or do I need a different driver? Network card is an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201

The non-packaged directory is writable. You need to drop it in to the exact directory I noted above, specifically /system/non-packaged/add-ons/kernel/drivers/bin, after booting has finished. If all goes well, you should then have ethernet support.

This ticket is about the ethernet driver, not the AX201 WiFi controller.

sorry @waddlesplash, mixed this up. Ethernet works fine on my Starbook MK-V. But I have another problem now (won't boot with AMI BIOS, only with coreboot, but that's a different issue).

I've just gone ahead and added the driver to builds in hrev55856. If there are any problems with it, open a new ticket.
