Seems like I have the same problem with media_server crash right after booting! I have to manually restart the Audio Mixer to get media_server to work!
but still no sound, before with Beta4 I got it working!
Haiku 64bit Beta5 57937+114 atm!

Bruno's AudioMixer settings (SoundBlaster live and hda sound driver) No Sound output!

With Beta4 the sound driver was working over the Headphones channel! Maybe related to HDMI?

Bruno's monitor preferences always show the Phillips monitor (HDMI) never the ACER (DisplayPort) both no sound!
Strange or not? If I connect to the Phillips monitor via hdmi, the media_addon_server does not crash at boot!
If I connect to the ACER monitor via DisplayPort, media_addon_server will crash at boot! In screen preferences HAIKU always show Phillips monitor! Never ACER monitor! See screenshoot!
The screen resuolution is different albeit it shows always 1920 x 1080! May this INFO be helpful for the adventureos developer!

I discovered something that might be causing the lack of audio, maybe these modifications have an error.

I tested this version hrev57702 and the audio was working. this version was before these changes

Ah, so this is a regression then.

What seems wrong is that the allocated buffers are kernel only. The boolean flag line 76 should probably be turned to true.
It is similar to #18088 same crash at startup right after boot. I will try to separate the media_addon_server settings file to find out if it works if deleted!

I have this crash with UEFI booting only, with legacy there is no crash, but still no sound!

Hello all, today I started HAIKU and the bug is still there! Now it ocures randomly But it works sometimes, so no time to close this bug! Would it be helpfull to provide syslog with successfull booting and crashreport? And syslog with bug triggered to compair?

It seems I have a similar problem with sound, and crashing media_addon_server. But I have a different Soundcard (Sound Blaster live). Should I open a ticket for my problem? Or is it related? I will add the syslog for the audio/media part of it!
