#5958 closed bug (fixed)

UniversalScroller can't be installed

Reported by: Meanwhile Owned by: nobody
Priority: normal Milestone: R1/beta2
Component: Servers/app_server Version: R1/alpha2
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

Haiku r1a2: When installing UniversalScroller there's a half-rendered dialog window showing up. The system becomes unresponsive, though the mouse doesn't freeze and windows can still be moved around the screen.

Serial debug info doesn't show up after clicking 'install.sh', so this seems all the info I can give. The app can be found here:

Maybe unrelated, but now on startup an information window shows up, saying: 'init_transport failed.'
It apprears at the same time the Deskbar shows up on screen and it also doesn't produce any serial debug info.

No, that's printer related, so nevermind...

Ticket #1298 may be interesting in this regard.

Resolution: fixed
Status: assignedclosed

The dialog window is very oddly designed, but it does show up now and does not hang the system. Installation fails because it uses hard-coded paths to /boot/beos which of course does not exist; but that can be fixed by installing the "compatibility" package.

Sounds good. Just adding the new location for this app for reference: https://github.com/HaikuArchives/UniversalScroller
