Description (last modified by )
I'd love to see an option in settings for changing user agent in web+. Im using a lot of apple/iphone pages [which are sleek and quick to load] on my other OS, but unfortunately i cant use it on Haiku, because of hardcoded web+ useragent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; U; WebPositive/533.4; Haiku) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.55 Safari/533.4
For example: http://i.mma-tv.net/

I believe this should have a bit more priority; ability to change user agent would theoretically help tricking a lot of web pages to simply work.

There is a system for automatically setting the user agent in WebKit only for pages that need it. I would prefer using that rather than always changing the user agent.
Please complain to broken websites, they should not be doing user agent sniffing.
Note that upstream WebKit is also gradually removing things from the user agent to let less info about the user be traced.
Also, if it's only "theoretically", well... most websites already identify us as Appel Safar (the user agent is very close to that, on purpose) and I don't think we could make it much better than that. There are actual problems that prevent websites from working, in most cases.
Probably not a high priority, but I'll see if this can be done fairly easily and take it off stippi's plate.
