[app_server] crash with _numBlocks > 0 — at Initial Version

Description
While trying to reproduce #<_sre.SRE_Match object at 0x406e9e78>, which in turn was found while trying to reproduce #<_sre.SRE_Match object at 0x406e9e78> i found another bug, eh :-)
app_server could crash if you type in Terminal /dev/random, and while it print lots of things try to play with selection. After several seconds app_server should crash. Tested under vmware with hrev17843. Back trace will follow.
