It's possible to make Terminal, replicant capable?

I've read it have this capacity, but then it was removed? It's possible to re-implement?

I'm using hrev43238, Thanks.

I think a terminal replicant would be a good idea! Perhaps put it in the desk bar when desktop is cluttered?

I like the idea although a custom replicant would be better... if anyone of you have a Linux/BSD box install enlightenment dr16 and E-Exec epplet. Its basically a little command line interface with a history button and run button and back and forward history buttons. It works quite well for launching apps from it.

Although a full Terminal replicant would have its uses as well.

Yes I'm thinking to use it to (I hope in 3 years can be done) to replace a commandline linux see this "mokup" (imagine BTerminal as a replicant) attached, I've tried to modify too bootscript to obtain this:

  • Tracker with a Terminal occuping the center 80% of the screen on 9 Screen (ALT+F# as on Linux change screen a screen == a virtual console, right?), Terminal is replicant
  • Tracker has not Desktop icons
  • No Deskbar if BTerminal it is not sufficient, use Launchpad
  • In the right bottom corner a new replicant to show Date & Time
  • Mediakit, Printer Kit, Debug Server (in a production enviroment core does NOT exists, right?) and so on... REMOVED!
  • Remove more application (that) you can... a cmdline need BePDF? No, remove! A cmdline needs a WebPositive? No, remove! ... and so on
  • Try to obtain to smallest image possible (the new package manager I suppose permits to boot from a compressed /Boot volume), it should go in a flash 256 MB is OK, 128 is better, 64 is awesome
  • In this "personality" Haiku can work on a simple AVR RISC CPU or in a Pentium I with 32 MB of Ram, without a problem, IMHO :-)

So we'll do it? If you want to give me some pointers I can do it myself, no problem I like a lot to play with Haiku API,it's fun :-)

P.S. a "Windows Run" replicant equivalent can be interesting, too, but we've to open a new ticket for this I suppose.

I think this is a good 3rd-party opportunity.
