Description

This is a spin-off from #8156. mmadia told me that the About menu items are being dropped from Haiku built-in applications. This patch drops it from the Workspaces app.

I think this was resolved already.

It's not. I think in case of a Replicant, removing the About window is not desirable, as you're then unable to identify the Replicant. The menu item could be removed when the app is running in non-replicant mode.

My idea was that for replicants, the About window could be replaced with an inactive menu item which would hold the application name. It could look similar to the title items in Open File dialogs. However, I never got to preparing a patch which would move the class defining those title items out of Tracker and make it available elsewhere, even though I planned to.

Removed the menu item in hrev48385, but left the about box so it can be reached from the replicants.
