Does that system boot in fail-safe video mode? If so, it'd be helpful if you could boot once normally, then again in fail-safe mode and grab the resulting syslog (/boot/var/log/syslog).

Getting the logs anevilyak mentioned would be essential to determining the issue here. Be sure to grab all the files in /boot/var/log/ and place them here.

Another good item to grab would be the AtomBIOS found. You can grab a dump of the AtomBIOS here:

/boot/common/cache/tmp/radeon_hd_bios_1002_*

i'll do this now. please wait untill i create separate partition to install temporal haiku on it.

Ok, so here is syslog.
Also I can not find AtomBIOS dump - directory /boot/common/cache/tmp/ is just empty.

http://cgit.haiku-os.org/haiku/tree/src/add-ons/accelerants/radeon_hd/connector.cpp#n710 seems to be the issue.

The logic there looks all wrong.. I'm sure the fix is not as simple as it looks though... let me update it an I'll post here once done.

FYI, this should be fixed (or at least better) after 65705aca9a3b0f9709c080691e13d0c0a487da21

Go ahead and run the latest code, and re-grab the log file, and post it here :)

That's a pity, but looks like this doesn't help.
"git pull" and total rebuild, with rebuilding even tools.
Still - black screen.

Could you get the system logs again? It would really help in nailing down this one.

try post hrev43810. hrev43810 fixes a *big* oops.

hrev43900 solves several issues, while it isn't targeted to the black screen issue you are seeing... give it a try :)

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

xata said over IRC that this is fixed for him in the latest images. Would kind of be nice to know what fixed it, though...
