= Guest Additions Installation/Usage Instructions for Haiku = --------------------------------------------------------- These are temporary instructions for those who want to test the Haiku port of the guest additions before a proper package or installer has been created. == You will need: == - The contents of this repository [aka https://github.com/scgtrp/vbox-haiku] - A GCC4-based Haiku installation with development tools installed (Partial GCC2/GCC2h support is present but not yet usable.) == To compile the guest additions: == {{{ #!div style="font-size: 90%" {} }}} If the build fails complaining about ev being undefined, edit out `/haiku.x86/release/revision.kmk` and change ev to 9001 - this is due to the code for finding the Subversion revision not working with Git repos. == To install: == {{{ #!div style="font-size: 90%" {} }}} == To uninstall: == {{{ #!div style="font-size: 90%" {} }}} == Usage: == Time synchronization and guest control are handled by VBoxService - you do not need to do anything special to enable these. See the output of `VBoxManage help guestcontrol exec` on your host system for guest control instructions. Clipboard sharing and automatic screen resizing are handled by VBoxTray; load the replicant by running `/boot/apps/VBoxAdditions/VBoxTray`. It will be automatically reloaded whenever Deskbar starts until you quit it by right-clicking it and choosing Quit. To mount a shared folder, tell Haiku to mount a null filesystem of type `vboxsf` and pass the share name as a parameter: {{{ #!div style="font-size: 90%" {} }}} == Resources == Client Additions on VirtualBox site(source)BR pre compiledBR how to run VirtualBoxBR how_install_virtualbox_guest_additions (Forum)BR gsoc 2011 by scgtrpBR 2011-04-29_gsoc_introduction_virtualbox_guest_additionsBR 2011-05-25_vbox_guest_additions_end_bonding_period_first_quarter_goalsBR 2011-06-17_vbox_guest_additions_status_second_quarter_goalsBR 2011-07-15_vbox_guest_additions_midterm_status_reportBR 2011-08-04_vbox_guest_additions_34_term_reportBR 2011-09-05_vbox_guest_additions_slightly_late_final_progress_reportBR RFC-GSOC-2011-VirtualBox-guest-additions-added-to-official-optional-packagesBR Found this from https://github.com/scgtrp/vbox-haiku/blob/master/README.haiku
