#1471 closed enhancement (fixed)

Deskbar's Auto Raise could be activated more specifically

Description

Great feature, but it responds over a larger area than DeskbAct, thus causing a greater risk of irritation through unwanted activation when cursors accidentaly hit the side of the screen. This area can get quite large (vertically) when many apps are opened and Deskbar isn't in its minimized mode. I'd love to see the responding area reduced to a point, i.e. the exact corner, just like in BeOS' DeskbAct app.

I have a request, too.

Currently, Deskbar get focus on raising, but, I don't like. I need to click previous window when cursors accidentaly hit Deskbar.

I like behavior of Windows' taskbar's auto raise.

Alternatively, deskbar should raise when mouse hits the side of the screen, but before it does so, it waits say half a second, just like the screensaver waits some time when the mouse hits the edge.

Also if both taskbar and screensaver would be activated in the edge it would be a conflict.

Moved to Interface Kit, as this should best be solved in a generic fashion that all apps can just use.

I've got another approach. The deskbar is not activated, but just raised to top. Please have look at http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/4880#comment:5

Can this ticket be closed now that the patch on #4880 has been applied? The current auto-raise feature work well now. It is activated only on the screen edge or corner like the ticket creator wanted.

There's nothing else to be done, regarding the ticket description, right?
