#16852 closed enhancement (fixed)

Corsair K70 LUX RGB not working unless in BIOS mode.

Description (last modified by LSS37040)

After booting into the system (the keyboard's LED will go off then on during the boot process), the keyboard cannot be used at all, unless I put the switch on the keyboard (for DPI settings) to BIOS mode (indicated by a blinking SCROLL LOCK).

Is there anything I can do to figure out what might be preventing the keyboard from working? As I think it probably needs a different driver, I'm making this ticket as an enhancement instead of a bug. It's not major, though, as I also have a set of PS/2-compatible keyboard and mouse attached to the system that I can use while in Haiku.

Also, I cannot upgrade the keyboard's firmware as the latest firmware (3.08) has a broken legacy fallback that unless I explicitly switch it to BIOS mode, despite the SCROLL LOCK is blinking, I cannot use the keyboard while in BIOS, either. I have reported that issue to Corsair about 2 years ago, and they gave me the factory default firmware (2.05) which didn't have the legacy fallback issue (so I can use it while in BIOS without having to explicitly switch to BIOS mode), but I'm yet to see it fixed on Corsair's side (probably because they told me they don't support any OS other than Windows).

Issue persists on Haiku R1 Beta3.

When checking the Input settings, I saw 5 USB Keyboard entries in the list, though none works. From what I saw under Windows, the Corsair keyboard presents itself as at least 4 USB keyboards to work around the usual 6-key limitation to achieve NKRO.

I don't know if there are any other helpful information that I could provide, and I don't know if other similar keyboards are also not working on Haiku, either.

Please try with hrev55413 or later, improvements to our HID parser there may help.

If it still doesn't work, go to the /tmp directory where you will find HID reports for your keyboard, and attach them to the ticket. They will help investigate how the keyboard reports its data.

It seems at the time of writing the available upstream image is still at hrev55410. Will give it a try once a build later than hrev55413 comes out.

Just tested hrev55414. I'm able to at least type something in StyledEdit using my USB keyboard without issues.
