#2947 closed bug (fixed)

Slow boot due to DMA issues

Reported by: idefix Owned by: marcusoverhagen
Priority: normal Milestone: R1
Component: Drivers/Disk Version: R1/pre-alpha1
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: x86

Description

With hrev28303, Haiku hangs at the disk icon for quite a long time while the serial-output shows several 'ide: ide_timeout()' during partition-identification (kinda like bug #2783). See 'Seriallog hrev28303.txt'.

When I set the 'disable IDE DMA'-option, Haiku boots fine. See 'Seriallog hrev28303 (disable IDE DMA).txt'.

Haiku booted also correct with hrev27964, see Seriallog r27964 (64MB).txt from #2735.

Tested with hrev28339: booting is as fast as hrev27964 again.

This ticket can be closed.

Any idea which commit fixed this?

comment:3 by idefix, 16 years ago

I think [28333] or [28339].
Can't test wich one, because the raw image before hrev28339 is hrev28327.

Tested with hrev28327: booting is as slow as hrev28303.
