Can send but not receive e-mails through BeMail

Description
Setting up Gmail seems nice and easy in BeMail, and it works well for sending out e-mails, but reports "Connection error: Network is unreachable" when attempting to retrieve e-mails. Hopefully I'm not just replicating someone else's bug report...I did a search for that error message online here and didn't find it.
Was using hrev47902 today when I had it happen, but have encountered this whenever I've tried it, as far back as I can remember.
If this is true for all users, this seems like a pretty big hole in Haiku, doesn't it? Is there anyone actively working on BeMail these days?

FWIW, this error only occurs when BeMail attempts to connect and retrieve e-mails and at no other time. It happens for the first time after I set up the Gmail account and then click Apply. All other networking on my computer appears to work fine. Stargater says he has the same problem. He can send e-mails but not retrieve them.

Could you run strace BeMail, reproduce the issue, and send us the output?

"Connection error: Network is unreachable" has nothing to do with Mail. Probably a bug in the network stack.
Random guess: this is once again the IPv6-never-works bug.
