Webpositive very slow to write in text field

When writing in text field there is a significant delay before the text appears. Using Webkit 1.4.5 hrev47934 x86_64

Haiku bug tracker website. Has something changed in the USB drivers since March/April? This may not be Web+ related at all, but a symptom of another issue.

I can confirm the same here. Typing text in this form is very slow.

Perhaps related: Selecting tabs, lines of text , scrolling and mouse clicks also very slow. Sometimes more than two mouse clicks required before item is selected. Today, using hrev47944, text does not appear at all in the field - only in the preview after a long delay.

These all look like different issues. The previous is slow because it is generated by Trac using Javascript or some other trick, and it has always been. The "button needs two clicks" issue has been there on gmail for a good while. Editing the textview and inserting text in the middle is known to have issues with disapearing text - I think all of those already have open tickets. So, the slow editing must be related.

I must be a slow typer because I don't feel this is slow - however now I do notice it uses a lot of CPU so there's something strange going on.

FWIW I can also reproduce this on dev.haiku-os.org with my laptop (quite old Core 2 machine). In case you need any info :-)

On my system WebPositive is terribly slow. On dev.haiku-os.org redrawing (displaying typed text, selection etc.) takes more than second. Youtube work, but video is slideshow, sound is playing perfectly.

This is still an issue with hrev49346 x86_gcc2. Text disappears in ticket comment field.

This is till an issue with hrev49541. Text sometimes completely disappears from comment field, while still appearing in preview. Keystrokes slow to appear when entering text.

Just for information, I'm currently working on solving various WebKit-related performance problems... however it will take some more time until it's ready to be merged back to haiku master. The slowness on this website will be among the solved issues then.

Thanks for the good news. I usually try to follow up on my submitted tickets every few weeks or months to see if any can be closed. I'll hold off on any Web+ related tickets until after your merge.
