Mail system doesn't get new mail

I'm running nightly-hrev50883-x86_gcc2_hybrid, which I downloaded. On an Intel NUC. I set up a mail account. I tuned the config settings for where my inbox is, sent mail, etc. The Inbox folder shows mail in the server mailbox. The problem is that it doesn't show new mail that arrives after I booted the system. I can see on another system that the server has new mail. Doesn't appear in the Inbox. The menu item to "Check for mail now" doesn't change this. There are no alerts. When I reboot, the new mail appears in the Inbox.

We'll need more information than that. At the very least, what mail provider are you trying to get mail from?

A syslog (/var/log/syslog) might be of use, too.

My provider is ​http://www.zaclys.com/. Settings for Incoming include IMAP, server mail.zaclys.net, username, password, Connection Type: SSL, and a destination of /boot/home/mail.

There's no relevant information in syslog. All it contains is many lines like,

KERN: usb hub 2: port 12 is not suspended KERN: usb hub 2: port 12 is not in an over current state KERN: usb hub 2: port 12 was reset KERN: usb hub 2: port 9 is not suspended KERN: usb hub 2: KERN: port 9 is not in an over current state KERN: usb hub 2: port 9 was reset

Nothing different is added when I check for new mail.

I'm trying out Haiku again. R2. mail_daemon still doesn't get new mail. I can watch my account (HostISO) email and see new mail come in, for example using Trojita. It doesn't show up in the Inbox Tracker window unless I kill mail_daemon.
