#13718 closed bug (not reproducible)

app_server crash on boot

Reported by: vidrep Owned by: axeld
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Servers/app_server Version: R1/Development
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: x86

Description

When attempting to install hrev51428 x86_gcc2h from a CD, app_server will crash after the rocket icon, before the installer dialog appears. I can successfully install x86_gcc2h to another partition from my x86_64 partition using the installer. However, booting the x86_gcc2h partition will still crash app_server in the same manner as above.

Looking at your debug report, it seems the app_server crashed when it was attempting to load fonts, specifically in the Freetype part of the code. Did you happen to recently add any new fonts or update freetype?

This is a current anyboot ISO burned to CD that crashes before I ever get to the installer dialog.

I installed hrev51385 x86_gcc2, then did a pkgman update to hrev51431 using the package buildbot repository. When I clicked to unhide "Vision" in the deskbar I had another app_server crash. Debugger report attached.

Please do not add several reports to the same ticket like this. Your crash in Vision is unrelated, open a separate ticket for it.
