#14812 new bug

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value doesn't work

Reported by: dpirate Owned by: korli
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Drivers/Audio/emuxki Version: R1/Development
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

This is on x86_64 (hrev52737). The card is recognized by Haiku, but no sound is coming out of it. It seems like there's a problem with the volume values being wrong (from 0db to negative). See attached screenshot for more details.

SB Audigy 2 Value not working

If you can, please test the same system on 32-bit. The driver may not be 64-bit safe or something like that.

So, I've managed to boot x86_gcc2 livecd and test the sound card on the same system. It seems to have exactly the same problem.

If this was actually a delayed start of audio it might be fixed by hrev54464, please retest with a nightly that includes that fix.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. I updated Haiku and test sound output. Unfortunately still no joy.

Hello,

I got a new Socket A motherboard that has USB-HDD boot support and I was able to boot and test today's Haiku gcc2 nightly on it which I couldn't do with the other Socket A motherboard I have. On that system I have a Sound Blaster Live! PCI which is also an EMU10K1 sound card. Sound works fine with this. The volume values in the mixer are wrong as well. So that doesn't seem to be related to the problem.
