Description
Using hrev53333 64-bit "anyboot" burned CD on a MacBook Pro mid-2012, it booted fine, but I encountered severe graphical glitches when it got to the desktop. (Picture of the screen is appended.) Tried booting with the intel_extreme driver blacklisted in the boot options menu; the VESA driver works fine. I will probably attach a syslog at a later time, because I'm uncertain how to obtain one that accurately shows the issue, due to (A) the graphical glitch, and (B) the fact that I'm booting it from a CD. Output of listdev will also be attached when I have it.

In the syslog, I see that the driver found no DDC/EDID information and also failed to map in the video card ROM to get the native resolution from there.
It then tries to set the resolution to 1024x768, which I guess is not the native resolution, and it seems it fails at setting it up properly, so you end up with the invalid display you get.
At the end of the log I think you set the resolution yourself to 640x400?
If that's the case, managing to set the proper resolution and then rebooting (assuming a writable install of haiku, so not running from CD/DVD) might help. You can set the resolution using either the screen preferences (if the glitch allows you to see what you do there) or the screenmode command in Terminal.

Yes, the native res is 1280x800. I'm honestly surprised I was able to see the screen well enough to set the resolution in the Screen prefs, but somehow I managed it.
I'm about to re-test with hrev53381; I'll report back here afterward as to how that goes.

OK, quick update on this ticket... I can't test it any further at this time because the MacBook's screen backlight fuse (on the main logic board) has apparently failed, and I still have yet to get it repaired; it's the kind of repair that'd have to be done professionally. I will test again with the latest hrev as soon as I have the machine back up and running, but that might take a while longer.

Ok, when you get the machine back please try hrev53857 or later as I fixed some issues for Ivy Bridge devices there. Thanks for the update and I hope you can get your machine back in working order.

I'm having the same issue as described here. Running version hrev54912. Only VESA mode is working but on native resolution (1366x768@32bit). I had to blacklist the intel_extreme accelerator.
Device is a Thinkpad T430u with a i5-3427U.
listdev shows:
device Display controller (VGA compatible controller, VGA controller) [3|0|0] vendor 8086: Intel Corporation device 0166: 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller
A new Syslog file for this T430u is attached.
