    initial v3  
    1 It looks as though some virtio network devices can be "directly attached" to the PCI bus instead of being attached through a virtio bus.
     1It looks like a newer "modern" virtio v2 design is now in use which our drivers don't work with.  The PCI device ID's are higher.
