Description

I installed Haiku R1/beta3 and tested it a bit to see how well things work.

Connecting to a hidden wireless network is not particular easy or stable.

In network preferences there does not seem to be and option like "Connect to hidden network". I would like to see such an option added in the list.

I might be able to see hidden networks in the list of networks but that does not seem to be a good way of connection to a hidden network if i have to guess which one it is in the list when there is more then one.

I tried using ifconfig from a terminal and managed to connect but not without restarting. It seems the network connection sometimes get caught in a loop it can't get out of. I might have entered some incorrect IP values.

While in the loop the /var/log/syslog file keeps growing in size and these lines are added over and over:

KERN: wlan_control: 9235, 15 KERN: wlan_control: 9235, 76 KERN: Last message repeated 22 times.

If i disable the wireless network in network prefenceres the file stops growing.

I would like this to work better since it is the first thing i want to do after installation Haiku. And i would like to be able to do it without using a terminal.

Also when i do use ifconfig and enter the name of the hidden networks and password in the terminal the dialog that opens does have the password entered but instead of choosing WPA2 it chooses "Open". I think only is for use then no password is needed. And the checkbox to save the password is removed each time. So that's annoying it does not select the correct option and remembers the password.

So far i have been been able to make the system remember the connection. It would be nice to have to option to automatically connection after restart.

And... also i don't see any option to disconnect/leave the connection to the connected network in the GUI. I can disable the wireless adapter it seems in network preferences.

So add these options in the GUI:

Connect to hidden network Disconnect
