    1 I did some checking on my setup and it's possible that I'm using an HDMI 1.4 cable, which can only do 30Hz when the resolution is 3840x2160. I'll order an HDMI 2.x cable and see if that makes a difference (this might take a week or two).
     1I did some checking on my setup and my motherboard's HDMI port is version 1.4, which has a max 30Hz refresh at 3840x2160.

    3 Is it possible to detect what version of HDMI cable is attached?
     3The motherboard has a DisplayPort which supports 60Hz, so I'll purchase a DisplayPort to HDMI cable and give that a try.
