Can't return to userspace after KDL

Description
On my laptop, after entering KDL with the keyboard shortcut and typing "continue", the system freezes instead of returning to userspace.
I'm not sure how I can start debugging this.

What KDL plugins are in use? That would be the likely place to start. Also seeing if you can enter KDL via the keyboard shortcut makes any difference (i.e. if you can enter it again during the "freeze".)
Initial things to investigate in my mind would be whether one of the KDL plugins (e.g. USB keyboard) misbehaves on your hardware, or somehow the scheduler does not kick in properly.

Ah, I see you said you entered via the keyboard shortcut in the first place. Well, then yes, trying what korli said would be one thing.

Same thing when entering using kernel_debugger.
I can't re-enter KDL after typing continue.
No USB keyboard connected, using the laptop's PS2 keyboard, but I don't think it made a difference (I can try again)
I have no way to add a serial port to this laptop at the moment.

No, it's been this way since I got the machine, otherwise I would have reported an hrev number.
does it work when entering kdl with "kernel_debugger" ?
