     1Everything seems to work fine.

     3I consolidated the clock into a single class, because I couldn't get the previous setup to work nicely with the layout manager.

     5You can do a silent NTP update with --silent-update. If synchronizing at boot is disabled, this returns immediately. The icon doesn't appear in the deskbar because a TimeApplication isn't created.

     7Didn't bother including the progress bar. The "Synchronize now" button simply changes to "Stop" while the update is going on.
