Description
See also #3868. I don't think this is the same bug.
I built Subversion hrev42888 while booted from hrev42884.
I'm very pleased to say that it mostly works on my Early 2006 MacBook Pro, Model Identifier MacBookPro1,1 but there are some problems.
I booted from a PNY 16 GB MicroSDHC card in an SDHC adaptor inserted into a Dynex DX-CRMN1 USB2 card reader. The card reader's USB cable is in the right-hand USB port. I have an external keyboard in the left-hand one.
I used Linux fdisk to create a partition /dev/sdb1 that has the same number of sector as the haiku-alpha.image built by hrev42888 "jam -q @alpha-raw". I then used dd to copy the image into sdb1, then the Linux makebootabletiny to Bless the Haiku partition.
My unit uses rEFIt 0.14 for a boot menu. The other OSes are Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows XP SP3. I don't need to hold the Option key at boot as rEFIt creates a boot menu item for Haiku.
I have to press a keyboard key (either internal or external will work) before the colored boot icons will appear - I will file a separate bug report for that.
I can use an external USB keyboard to get into KDL once the Tracker appears. The built-in keyboard does not have a SysRq key - is there another key that will substitute on the built-in keyboard?
When I move the mouse around as shutdown progresses, eventually the pointer freezes with the progress dialog saying "Shutting Down...". I cannot get into KDL at this point.
My unit has 2 GB of RAM with a 1.83 GHz Core Duo (NOT Core 2 Duo).
The attached gzipped System Profiler Report can be un-gzipped then opened in System Profiler on Mac OS X. Of course the software configuration won't apply, but it gives quite a lot of detail about my hardware as well as the firmware revisions of the various devices.

Would like to see what happens on recent revisions, I think this is probably fixed when we stopped forcing shutdown on CPU 0. Somehow that hanged in inter processor communication on a lot more hw than the legacy hw that requires shutdown on CPU 0.
So if there is no feedback in a while I think we will close this.

According to a note in https://tinyapps.org/docs/haiku/ it still occurs.

I am not sure about this one. I am currently doing Junk removal at my house. I will look into this more deeply later.
