    55The "ipv6" option in resolv.conf is for gethostbyname only. getaddrinfo is passed the "service" (port number) so it can use the right address family. So I'm not sure having the "ipv4" option there makes sense, after all.

     7Also https://www.isc.org/downloads/libbind/ mentions that NetBSD now develops what used to be libbind as netresolv: http://wiki.netbsd.org/individual-software-releases/netresolv/ . We should consider migrating to it so we get the latest fixes and improvements.
