Description
Using SMTube, I downloaded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdoITcEiGPw to MP4 and tried to play it in MediaPlayer. Unlike other YouTube videos which play fine using the same process, this one has the main picture shifted 3/4 of the screen to the left, and then the right 3/4 are filled with smaller, green versions of tiles of the left 3/4 of the video, and a big green block. (I guess I have hardware acceleration, because a screenshot showed nothing. Oddly, even disabling that feature in the MediaPlayer settings did not seem to change anything.)
hrev45673 gcc4hybrid on:
CPU: AMD Sempron™ 3100+ Processor (64-bit) (256KB L2 cache, 1.80GHz, 1600MHz FSB) Chipset: VIA K8M800 Memory: 512MB DDR SDRAM (2 × 256MB), 400MHz (PC3200) Video: S3 Graphics Unichrome™ Pro 64MB DDR Shared memory, AGP 8x slot available for upgrade (upgraded to Radeon 9200 128 MB AGP) Sound: AC '97 Audio, Dolby 5.1 (6-channel)

I did, as mentioned. However, I then tried closing MediaPlayer and re-opening, which didn't make the setting stick, because I had to three-finger salute it to kill it from the Deskbar because it just stayed around after the window was gone, so I tried again, changing the setting, closing, and reopening, and this time, since it closed cleanly, the setting stuck and I can see the video properly, but it's quite choppy. Any idea why just this one video is like this with HW acceleration when other vids are fine?

(It might be good to put "(requires MP restart)" beside the hardware option label BTW.)

Maybe it's the JPEG 2000 thing that makes it bad. You probably don't have any other files that use the same encoding?

I don't think hardware acceleration is working or tested currently.

I'm pretty sure it's the Radeon driver. If this is vesa, it's waaaay snappier than BeOS' vesa driver was back in the day.

IIRC the odd file downloaded with SMTube would behave this way, but most were OK. What do you mean by the JPEG 2000 thing?
