#10357 closed enhancement (fixed)

ipro1000: device 153b not supported

Reported by: humdinger Owned by: korli
Priority: normal Milestone: R1
Component: Drivers/Network/ipro1000 Version: R1/Development
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

This is hrev46610.

The network interface of my new i7 machine isn't recognized. The device id appears in some file in the ipro1000 driver folder, but that apparently doesn't mean that it's supported, apparently.

listdev:

device Network controller (Ethernet controller) [2|0|0]
  vendor 8086: Intel Corporation
  device 153b: Ethernet Connection I217-V

Also attached, the syslog.

Urias has investigated a bit and informed me on IRC:

[18:13] <umccullough> humdinger, yeah, looking at the latest code in freebsd, it has that card added in if_em.c
[18:13] <umccullough> so, ours is just out of date

Owner: changed from nobody to korli
Status: newassigned

It seems I have messed up the merge of if_em.c on the 9.2 update (because I had to fix the code so that it builds on GCC2 too). I'll have a look.

Thanks very much! Brilliant: a brand new machine and Haiku works out of the box (i7 4770-S, 8 cores, 8gb ram, ssd, hd, network, sound)!
