Attaching my listdev from an eMachines M6805 laptop which has VIA FireWire in case any info in it might help get FireWire working on it as well. I have a miniDV cam I can test it on, just need to find or get a new cable for it. Is there a simple test app that we can check this with?

The simple test app is fwcontrol to be used in a terminal. some commands to test: fwcontrol fwcontrol -t fwcontrol -r fwcontrol -R mini.dv
