Description (last modified by )
This laptop runs hrev46890 flawlessly.
hrev46950 (ISO on CD-RW) boots, sits for a lonnggg time on the HD icon, then stalls on the final icon.
Spent an hour trying the various safe boot options, no luck.
Sorry, won't be able to do a binary search, I'm having severe bandwidth problems on this side. Just putting this here for reference purposes.

See the same issue on my Dell Lattitude D630. USB boot. Laptop extremely slow with lots of erratic USB stick led flashing. (funny I can pick out an odd flash pattern)
Locks up on:
- Last rocket icon (50%)
- Blue desktop with non-working mouse (25%)
- Desktop boots, one core locked at 100% due to a BGE thread (maybe unrelated as I see no recent changes to the BGE driver)

This doesn't seem to affect my Inspiron 1100, but I found out tonight, that my Inspiron B130 seems to be affected.
It has a broadcom43xx ethernet chip, and according to the debug output, it hangs on the media change for this device while the rocket icon is lit.
I'll get some more details soon.

hrev46965 just booted on the Dell Inspiron 1150 with no problem. Perhaps the fact that my Internet is down had something to do with it, if the ethernet chip is the culprit? (typing this on another computer tethered to my cellphone)

Replying to umccullough:
For me, it seems both hrev46924 and hrev46890 fails on the B130 laptop (but it gets past the rocket icon, and dumps me into a black screen).
Correction: It usually still gets suck on the rocket icon (the black screen thing was a fluke, it seems).
Also, I'm testing my own built images, not the downloaded ones, so it's possible that something else is affecting this, perhaps even the newer buildtools?

Well, I have narrowed my problem down to hrev46236, which basically explains why it hangs on the init of my netchip.
At this point, I'm going to assume my problem is different from the others in this ticket, and I will open a new ticket.
To check and see where your problem exists, you might enable debug output to the screen from the bootloader debug menu and see where it hangs.

hrev47253 boots and loads correctly on the original laptop that originated this ticket.

minor tweak to description...
I have an inspiron 1100 I can probably test with (if I can locate it).
Can you get me a listdev and syslog output to compare the hardware specs?
