I have a working recipe here. I'm just unsure what to put into SUMMARY and DESCRIPTION. Right now I have simply:

SUMMARY="A font providing Japanese glyphs"
DESCRIPTION="A font providing Japanese glyphs"

Can anyone improve on that?

Description (info I could extract from google translate of the VL Gothic homepage and japanese wikipedia entry):

This package include the VL Gothic (monospace) and VL PGothic (proportional) fonts. Originally developped for the Vine Linux project, they include glyphs suitable for rendering Japanese text, as well as Latin and Greek alphabets.

Hi, I tried to make recipe file (untested). But, I think it is better to put vlgothic in Haiku tree than to distribute via Haikuports / Haikudepot, because they are preinstalled fonts in Haiku installation and system use them as fallback glyph, which some application like FirstBootPrompt used.

We will preinstall the package, so that still works. It only makes our build process simpler. We are doing the same for most 3rd-party code and resources.
