I've been running into USB mouse problems on my new machine too. Here the button releases seems to not work reliably, and Tracker interprets this as "long clicks" and opens the menu. In the mouse preflet there is always one button pressed.
I plugged my mouse to the PS/2 port to avoid the issue.
