haiku x86_64 boot freezes with ps2 wireless mouse

Reported by: HAL Owned by: siarzhuk
Priority: high Milestone: R1
Component: Drivers/Mouse/PS2 Version: R1/Development
Keywords: x86_64 boot freeze ps2 mouse Cc: HAL
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: x86-64

Description

Booting haiku x86_64 with ps2 wireless mouse freezes at rocket icon. If I boot with no calls to BIOS, in debug options it will boot and the mouse is useable. Also if I swap the mouse for a usb mouse it will boot without using any boot debug settings.

  1. Boot haiku with ps2 mouse (might need a specific wireless and brand Logitech Mouseman)

Result: freeze at rocket icon. Sometimes will boot to desktop but then freezes after a few seconds. Instead in 1 swap the ps2 mouse with usb mouse and there is no freeze.

I was testing in hrev48044 x86_64.

Does this only happen with Haiku x86-64, or with x86 builds as well?

Sorry but I cannot test with the ps2 mouse now. I have got rid of it. From my initial testing I remember being able to boot hybrid gcc4 alright with same mouse.

Ok. Might have been an interrupt storm or something else. Since we are unable to debug further or verify a fix, I'm closing this ticket as invalid. Feel free to reopen should you stumble upon the problem again.
