A third solution would be to uninstall freetype_x86_devel, if you actually need libpng_x86_devel-1.5.12.

That's actually expected behavior in such a case. Choosing solution 1 should resolve it. Also, for reference, PackageInstaller is the old one that handles BeOS 5 .pkg files, it has no relation to the package management system we have now.
