Since hrev48607, mounting a drive no longer results in an icon appearing on the desktop.

Adrien suspects e.g. the BMessage changes recently.

It sounds like both this and #11707 could be because node monitoring doesn't work for some reason. Have you binary searched it to exactly hrev48707 (ie does 48706 work?)

And rtl81xx does DHCP again now, yay! :-) Guess it's the KMessage fix (can't come up with another explanation, the rest is userland, not kernelland I suppose). Thanks.
Creating a document on the Desktop doesn't display an icon either.
