#12228 closed bug (fixed)

Trac always says my attachments are possible span and capture impossible to use

Reported by: HAL Owned by: haiku-web
Priority: blocker Milestone:
Component: Website/Trac Version:
Keywords: attachments fail, upload Cc: HAL
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

I have had this problem trying to upload attachments for a long time now. Recently it has got worse in that there is no ok or submit button after I enter the capture word in its box. Even trying to press keyboard enter after entering it does not work.

  1. After creating a bug report go to attach a file link.
  2. Click the attach file button to find it on your file system.
  3. Click upload or attach.

Result: Trac says the attachment is possibly spam and gives a box to enter the word from the capture image but there is no ok or submit button after the box. Keyboard enter does not help. Another message comes up: "attachment not uploaded" or similar. The same happens if using any OS or browser I have tried: Webpositive or Firefox in Linux.

The attachment worked for this bug because it was not flagged as possible spam, probably because of been an image file not a text file.

Same experience here. Though once the capcha is passed, I can go back to the upload form and the capcha won't be checked on the second upload try.

Same here, going back is a workaround.

A possibility to whitelist users would be great (along with the possibility to un-whitelist them in the unlikely event that their accounts would become compromised and used for spamming).

Good idea. Trying to post syslogs or any other text attachment is a real pain right now.

Whitelisting is possible, I think, but I don't have the needed access to the Spam module to fix it. I'll send mail to Oliver.

I don't see a way to whitelist specific users. Looking at the logs apparently Mollom decides that several of our users are spam, so I've lowered its priority. I also relaxed the checking a bit for attachments.

Let me know if that fixes it for everyone, or if problems happen again, warn me or another trac admin quickly so we can find relevant entries in the spam filter log.

It may have fixed it for me at least I was able to upload a debug file for Webpositive crashing. Bug #12194
