Description
This is hrev50574.
If you just want to experiment with fonts, at some point you'd like to revert to the defaults. Unfortunately, this reverts all Appearance settings, also the colors you spent an hour tweaking... :) And vice versa, of course.
Appearance should save the settings of every tab (in a separate file, probably) and have the Defaults/Revert buttons act only on the settings of the currently shown tab.

Replying to pulkomandy:
...having to "default" all tabs one after the other when your settings are messed up (someone set up a klingon font and black text on black background, for example), it's nice to be able to do so with a single button.
I think my scenario is a more common one. :)
You should have used the "revert" button, not "defaults", as that would revert things to how they were when you opened the window.
I closed the Appearance window between tweaking sessions.
Maybe the "defaults" button, being quite destructive, would deserve a little warning in some cases.
Or pop up alerts:
- Revert all changes or just the settings for "{insert current tab title: Fonts|Colors|Look and feel|Antialiasing}"
- Go back to the defaults for all settings or just for "{insert current tab title: Fonts|Colors|Look and feel|Antialiasing}"

We generally make the Default and Revert buttons typically apply to the whole dialog but maybe we can make and exception here. Anyway this does not block #16412.
The buttons are "clearly" outside the tabbed area, as implied by the horizontal line separating them from the other controls :)
I cna see your point, of course, but having to "default" all tabs one after the other when your settings are messed up (someone set up a klingon font and black text on black background, for example), it's nice to be able to do so with a single button.
