hrev50675 x86_gcc2 When downloading a large volume of emails from the email server (1000+) the system will become unresponsive, and attempting to launch any application will result in "There was an error resolving the link" pop up. Attached photo and syslog

It probably ran out of available ports and missing icon in alert window is likely due to that. I've had this before and it was because of system running out of ports. You could probably drop into KDL and issue ports to confirm this.

You could also try to reproduce it with Terminal window open and tail /var/log/syslog running.
