Description

I changed my main desktop PC, which is provided with an Asus H61M-K motherboard: this motherboard has a built-in sound card, which is a Realtek ALC887 8-Channel High Definition Audio.

Everything works fine. Although in the Media Preferences, under the "Audio Input" tab I can choose the audio output (named as Front) as audio source (but are also present the "Speaker" outputs - see attached screenshot), if I attempt to record the audio input using the audio output as source, no audio signal is recognized/present in SoundRecorder and also on other apps which are able to record audio (eg BamBam! which is an old BeOS app, but which works still OK)

Removing HDA audio tickets from Beta2 milestone, no one has worked on it and opensound is available at least as a stopgap.
