Compare https://git.haiku-os.org/haiku/log/?h=r1beta1 to https://git.haiku-os.org/haiku/log/?h=r1alpha4 and the lack of branch-specific tags is easily apparent.

we decided that the default git stand-in works fine for now (hrevxxxx-15-xxxxxx) which is hrevxxxx was the last tag, delta is 15 commits, last commit hash is xxxxx.
