#14765 new bug
Media Services do not start automatically on Thinkpad T61
Reported by: | akiniod | Owned by: | korli |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | normal | Milestone: | Unscheduled |
Component: | Drivers/Audio/HDA | Version: | R1/Development |
Keywords: | Cc: | ||
Blocked By: | Blocking: | ||
Platform: | x86-64 |
Description
Audio playback seems to not work at all unless Media Services have been manually restarted and/or a custom entry in the bootloader script is made to start the services. Even with the script entry, the startup sound fails to play due to what's assumed to be most likely the Media Services not starting in time.
Devices shows the multimedia controller to be an Intel 82801H HD Audio Controller

Probably this is very much related:
KERN: usb_disk: sending the command block wrapper failed: Device check-sum error
This appears (along with EHCI errors) very often in your syslog. I guess you are booted off of a USB stick?

Not that we need more HDA bugs but this certainly isn't AC97. Or maybe not a bug at all.
Please attach a syslog.
