Forgot to add, it's on an ASUS X370 Prime Pro motherboard (Ryzen).

Description: modified (diff)

cmedia driver doesn't seem to have support for CMI8788: https://git.haiku-os.org/haiku/tree/src/add-ons/kernel/drivers/audio/cmedia/cmedia_pci.h#n19

and it's not even added to to the image: https://git.haiku-os.org/haiku/tree/build/jam/images/definitions/regular#n204

Does installing OpenSound help?

comment:3 by mpxlbs, 6 years ago

I'd like to try and install OpenSound, however it's not in the haikudepot and googling for it (at least for me) gives me different versions.

Is there an official x64 build available that I'm missing where it's at?

Edit: Seems it's in progress

Opensound is only available for 32bit Haiku for now.

I see, guess I'm stuck without sound until it gets ported to x64 then.

I am sorry to inform that my sound card is currently broken, due to my improper handling of the PCB which led to a static discharge (it is completely dead). In the meantime I am using onboard sound which seem to be working.

Until the time comes when I replace the sound card, I am unable to test newer versions of Haiku that might have fixes for it in the near future, sorry.

That's a bummer because OpenSound is now available for x86_64.

I will replace it in time with the STX II, probably.
