#14939 closed bug (not reproducible)

Cannot get access to websites beyond campus

Reported by: Evgen Owned by: axeld
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Network & Internet/IPv4 Version: R1/Development

Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: x86

Description

I can easily get access to the local uni web site. Tcpdump shows that packages are sent and received, but once I try to visit, say, google or yahoo, sites outside the campus, run HaikuDepot, - no access.

Are you sure there is no proxy involved?

Let me give a bit more details:

  1. The main machine (Windows 8.1) can get access to any web site (inside and outside campus). It's proxy setting is ticked off.
  1. I pull network cable from Windows machine and plug it to Haiku machine, boot it and try to get access to world web sites, then I get stuck.
  1. I don't know where are proxy settings on Haiku

Please retest with a recent nightly.

I am no longer in that campus for more than an year. As far as I remember, around that time I was able to access any WWW site and get updates from HaikuDepot. I guess the ticket can be closed.
