Dragging DVD Icon onto MediaPlayer Causes Segment Violation

Description
This DVD won't play with MediaPlayer. I am able to play a different DVD alright. I'm not certain why this particular DVD won't play in MediaPlayer but plays in SMPlayer and it plays in a Blu Ray DVD player. Someone had inserted this DVD into another device and I had to pull this device apart because it was jammed inside off the tray. It has slight surface damage but hard to see. So MediaPlayer doesn't start playing it but shows /boot/system/apps/MediaPlayer has encountered an error message box. So I have saved a report and it terminated.
