I upgraded the system to the latest, but it didnt boot. So I booted in previous working state: (hrev53242 from About Haiku).

Please get a syslog from the failed boot. Parallels probably has serial port emulation I'd guess.

ata 0 error: device still expects data transfer

It is very strange this just started happening. hrev53243, hrev53246~2 (block cache) are the only two potentially relevant changes assuming no memory corruption is involved. Either way this is likely a bug in the ATA driver, though, and this just exposed it somehow.

Aha: Diver reported this exact bug on Parallels in #4502. I wonder why you did not see it before?

Ive been using Paralells since last year, always update a few times a week. First time I saw this bug.
